23 MAR B&G ANNOUNCED AS LRR RACE PARTNERS

It is with great pleasure that the Royal Western Yacht Club is able to announce ‘B&G’ as our Race Partners for the Lonely Rock Race.

“We are delighted to be partnering with this event, B&G has been helping sailors race from Cowes around the Lonely Rock and back to Plymouth since 1955, it has been a big part of our heritage and our own brand story, so it is great to be able to support and be a part of the team in keeping this great race course going for many years to come, as it has for so many years before.”

Simon Conder, Head of B&G

Chris Arscott, Commodore of the Royal Western Yacht Club and Race Director of the Lonely Rock Race 2020, today said;

“We are delighted to announce that B&G have agreed to become a partner of the inaugural Lonely Rock Race. To have a company of this calibre on board, really enhances the profile of this event and helps to put us in a strong confident position to launch the restoration of this race around a classic, world famous course.”

B&G have been at the forefront of race electronics for many years. Their focus on the club race systems as well as the professional circuit race boats typifies the profile of competitor spread that the Lonely Rock Race will see on the start line. Their recognition of the Lonely Rock Race is not taken lightly and we look forward to working with B&G in developing this great race in the years to come.

B&G will also help in providing an invaluable insight to the course and the weather forecast during the skippers briefing which will be held at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club. This will also be streamed on-line for all to watch and enjoy.Whilst we are fully aware of the increasingly difficult and worrying times ahead with COVID-19, we feel it is important to have something to look forward to and we continue to plan for the Lonely Rock Race for now or in the future should this be necessary.

We continue to monitor the situation closely.
