Bill Graham - Skipper
I am a retired B.A. pilot who started sailing, compared with some, fairly late in life in 1980 racing Mirror dinghies with my children, graduating to Solos, Enterprises (with my wife) and Lasers. In 1982 I bought a 30ft catamaran as the family's introduction to "yacht sailing". This was followed by a Sadler 29 and most summer holidays were spent cruising. In 1997 I bought Suroma (my Starlight 35) and in 2000, the year after I retired my wife, Marti, and I took Suroma to north and west Spain, completing our first Biscay crossings. In 2002 my son and I completed the RB&I race and the following year Marti and I completed the AZAB race. In 2004 Marti and I started the Torquay triangle race but had to retire and last year my son and I completed the Southampton to Santander race.

Laurie Wilson - Co-Skipper
I took a sabbatical in the early 70’s and ended up as the mate on the Island Cruising Club 70 ton topsail schooner HOSHI, based on Salcombe South Devon. After marrying Hoshi’s cook there followed many years of dinghy and day boat sailing with the family at the Yealm Yacht Club as well as crewing in RWYC Channel offshore racing and the weekly Plymouth 1884 series.
I have owned an elderly and much loved Nantucket Clipper yawl for seven years, which is moored in the Yealm. I particularly enjoy single handed sailing, and ditch crawling though last year I had several crew changes in an 8 week voyage to the Clyde and the East and South West coasts of Eire during which we sailed nearly 1700 miles.
