Matt Baker - Skipper
Rob Husbands - Co-Skipper
The two skippers are Matt Baker and Rob Husbands. Matt, 38, is a lifelong sailor and has competed in many offshore races including, the last RBI, 2 Fastnets, Plymouth to Iceland, and the Clipper 2000 round the world race.
After having spent many years working as a skipper in various parts of the world he now divides his time between teaching sailing and boat building at the yard where Paradox was built in Cornwall.
Rob, 40, learned to sail dinghys as a child, but spent most of his leisure time while at university windsurfing in the waves of the south west. In recent years he has been working as an engineer on super yachts typically 45 to 65 meters. Though he hopes his skills as an engineer won't be needed on this race. Having sailed the 47 meter sloop Hyperion round the world he reckons that blasting around in a small Trimaran with friends is far more fun !
Their first objective for the race is to keep Paradox the right way up and the second is not to get scurvy from eating too many pot noodles.
