Bram van de Loosdrecht - Skipper
Hanny van de Loosdrecht - Co-Skipper

Bram and Hanny started sailing in 1974. They are even longer husband and wife.
Almost all of the time they are together, because they work, live and sail together. They get on along with each other very well, but that should be, as their sailingtrips are nearly always duo-handed trips.
1974: started sailing in open boats.
1977: built together a wooden "Kolibri", a ship with a cabin, 5.60 mtr.
1981: bought their first boat with cabin. It was a Danish boat, a Speakhugger. Length: 7.44 mtr. With this boat they made their first trips at sea. For example a trip to England, and they also went to Denmark, crossing the Northsea, then through the canal to Denmark. In the years after the boat "grew" and the waters they sailed on became bigger and they sailed further away.
1992: They became owner of another Danish boat, a "Kaskelot". Length: 10.30 mtr. With this boat they sailed many seatrips together for 11 years. A trip they won't ever forget was in 2000, when they sailed to Iceland. There was a low of 963 millibar, the waves were very, very high and the wind was screaming. There was no serious damage and they got well through the storm.
2002: In this year "Octavus", their present boat, came in their possession. A Swedish ship, 39 feet long. Together they have sailed many miles with this ship, to Norway (2 x) and they raced in 2003: Scheveningen (Holland) to La Rochelle (France), with two crewmembers. And going home: just the two of them.
In 2005 Bram started in the Ostar, unfortunately Octavus got dismasted and after three days the Ostar was over for Bram. Now the ship is completely repaired, they hope also stronger, and now Bram and Hanny are sailing the RB&I together.
