Skipper
Nick Bubb, 26, is one of Britain's leading young offshore sailors. He has been at the front of the highly competitive international Open 650 fleet for the past three years. His results are some of the best achieved by a British sailor.
In 2005 Nick became the youngest person to race around the world non-stop on a Maxi-Cat. Nick and the team on Daedalus finished second during the HSBC sponsored Qatar Oryx Quest.
Whilst campaigning in the Open 650 class, Nick self built his two boats and refitted another..
In the course of racing around the world and becoming a leading contender for the Mini Transat 2005, Nick's achievements gained exceptional recognition across National and Local Media, including TV distribution by SCN Axiom.
He was the RYA's Yachtmaster of the Year and in 2003 the largest ever grant awardee of the John Merricks Sailing Trust.
He is a past British Universities Dinghy Sailing Champion
Nick graduated from the University of Exeter with Honours degree in Engineering.
Co-Skipper
Pete Cumming, 26, is one of Britain's most complete sailors.
He has raced successfully in dinghies, where he has finished inside the
top three in numerous different classes at their National, European and World Championships.
Moving into inshore yacht racing, he once again excelled and has achieved top three results in some of the most competitive international fleets in the world.
In 2005 Pete came very close to winning the Mumm 30 World Championships, one of the toughest inshore regattas run, the crew had to settle for third having led for most of the event; no doubt they will be back.
Over the last four years he has also added offshore sailing to his experiences. Working for 'Mike Golding Yacht Racing' he has twice crossed the Atlantic on ECOVER, an Open 60, which is one of the most powerful sail boats ever built. He has also twice raced the Rolex Fastnet with the team.
Aside from his own racing Pete has been a dedicated coach and has passed on his skills to many youngsters, who have gone on to become champions.
Pete is also a top class sailmaker and has run Mike Golding's sail program for many years, as well as making sails for the all conquering British Olympic team.
