Nico Budel - Skipper
Dutchman, 66 years young, married, 5 childeren.
Re-commenced sailing in 1970, scaling up rapidly from a tiny sailingboat, to a X Yacht 3/4 , a Sprint,
a Beneteau 40.7, and last but not least, an Open 40, designed by Stephen Baker USA, name of vessel HAYAI - Japanese "Speedy/ Quick".
Nico has sailed with- and without crewmembers, double handed and solo too
Well Nico's sailing career, has taken part in let's name the most important races: 5 times Fastnet,
5 times Colin Archer Race Holland/Ijmuiden to Norway, 10 years Ijspegel Race, 1 time Round Britain Race, 1 AZAB Falmouth Azores, 1 time Hollan/Ijmuiden to Lagos Spain, 1 winner of Ostar 2005, with Hayai, Open 40
* Nico has entered his Open 40 boat Hayai for the Global Ocean Challenge 2007/2008

Dutchman, 38 years old, living together. Sailing since his childhood in dingy’s and tiny boats to IMX 38 and his own boat Hunter HB 31.
Highlights: More than 10,000 nm experience. Atlantic crossing, to Azores, USA, National Regenboog Class.
John's experiences and enjoyment of the other races, strengthened his motivation to take part in this RB&Ireland Race! John is very excited about being part of this race and in the near future he will join more of those great events.
